Member dues cover only 25 percent of the Academy’s total operating costs. The development and expansion of many vital and strategic AAD initiatives are supported by annual Sustaining Member contributions. You can take your membership to the next level by becoming a Sustaining Member! 

Sustaining Member support has helped the Academy and our members to:

  • Provide 174 grants to nonprofit organizations to erect shade structures that together protect more than 125,000 people from the damaging effects of the sun.
  • Conduct more than 1.9 million skin cancer screenings, detecting more than 188,000 suspicious lesions, including more than 21,500 suspected melanomas.
  • Harness the power of technology to help you maintain your practice and stay abreast of the constantly growing field of knowledge about dermatology.
  • Foster self-confidence through life-changing, fun-filled summer camp adventures for children with chronic skin conditions who would otherwise be unable to participate in this rite of childhood.

Sustaining Member contributions ensure that the Academy will have the flexibility to respond to ever-changing needs and opportunities.  As we strive enhance patient care and advance the specialty, it is important that all Academy members also become Sustaining Members.
