AAD Camp Discovery
For more than 15 years, the Academy has offered life-changing summer camp experiences for children who have chronic skin conditions at AAD Camp Discovery. At these week-long camps, kids meet others who, in the words of one camper, “have the same skin.” They also take part in activities and adventures they might have never dreamed possible because of their conditions. The impossible becomes possible at AAD Camp Discovery because of dedicated dermatologists and nurses who volunteer their time to ensure that the medical needs of each camper are met.
Campers enjoy traditional activities like fishing, boating, horseback riding, canoeing, campfires, talent shows, and a new favorite in 2009: “Dirty Jobs!”, modeled after the popular TV show. These fun-filled activities bring campers closer together, fostering new friendships and building their confidence and self-esteem.
Thanks to the generosity of AAD members, corporate partners, and others who support AAD Camp Discovery, there is no cost for campers to attend. You can help make these remarkable transformations possible by making a donation today!

Calling all Dermatologists, Residents, Nurses and Are you looking for a rewarding way to use your expertise to bring a smile to a child’s face? If yes, then volunteering at one of the four week-long summer camps at AAD Camp Discovery is your chance to do just that!
